Stay Cozy in Style with JORD Wood Watches + a GIVEAWAY!

January 8, 2017

Let’s face it: wood is in. From wood iPhone speakers/docking stations, jewelry, decor accents and reclaimed wood furniture, it’s in style – and I’m into it! I recently got my hands on a JORD Wood Watch and guys, I’m honestly in love.

I’ll admit I wasn’t a watch person until recent years when I got my first, high-end watch and shortly after the addiction was born and I began to question all of my actions prior to becoming a watch-person. I realize that sounds dramatic, but seriously I’m not kidding here. Watches are more than just a timepiece, they can also be a stylish accessory that can make an outfit.

When I started to grow my watch collection, I began looking for pieces that were significantly different than each other: leather bands, gold chains, different shaped faces (not all watches need to be round!) and yes, wood links.

The watch I scooped up from JORD is the Reece Watch in Golden Camphor and Khaki (available in two other colour combos). I love love love this one so much because it is so wildly different featuring a rectangular watch face and the different wood grains.

When I was originally looking online and picking a watch, I found this watch to be bit out of my comfort zone but decided to go for it and I’m so happy I did. It’s just SO different and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. It looks stellar both by itself or with an arm party and the different grains of wood in it are absolutely stunning.

JORD even sized it to my very tiny, child-like wrists before sending it out so it fit perfectly once it arrived. That my friends is customer service.

I also received a wood watch care kit to keep this bad boy looking fresh. It included JORD’s wood preserve cleaning oil, which is a custom-formulated cleaning oil that was created specifically for the care of wood watches and contains 100% natural ingredients – how amazing is that?! It also came with a soft cloth.

I think one of my favourite things about the wood watch is how chic it looks when styled with a cozy knit. I’m not a big fan of winter, (worst Canadian ever) but just looking at this combo actually gets me excited for knit sweaters and slipper socks. It just screams cozy to me! I think it’s because it reminds me of wood cabins, drinking tea and sitting by the fire. They really are so unique and are such a great gift idea.

Speaking of gifts, did anyone else find that when they were shopping for the Holidays that some people were just so incredibly hard to shop for? I don’t know about you guys, but when I was doing my holiday shopping this year I had a few people I struggled with. For the most part, my friends and family members are pretty easy to shop for but there is always that one person who is hard to shop for each year. For me, I usually struggle with my Dad or one of my friends who is super stylish and has just about everything.

I just think these are such a great gift for everyone: they have everything from manly wood watches to stylish wood watches for the fashionstas. JORD has everyone covered. They are the prefect gift for birthdays, holidays and every occasion.  Valentine’s Day is just a month away, and you can even have the back of them engraved with a custom message to make the gift extra special!

I’m going to be the Oprah of wood watches this year… I can see it now – you get a wood watch, and you get a wood watch, everyone gets a wood watch! But for now, I’ll start with my lovely readers. It’s time for a giveaway!

I had content planned to post sooner (like this photo as I’m sure you can clearly tell by the Christmas decorations 😅), but life happened and I ended up taking a break from Instagram for the rest of my holidays which honestly was really nice.

This week was my first week back to work, so I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my pjs and Ruffi again this weekend.

’Tis the season for ugly Christmas sweaters! 🎄🎄🎄

This one has been a favourite of mine for a few years now. It might be time for me to get a new one to keep things fresh… or should I say ‘pine' fresh. See what I did there? Ok, I’ll see myself out. 🙈 #uglychristmassweater #christmas2020
