The Cold Shoulder: Fall Trends

October 29, 2017

I don’t know about you guys, but I am loving the cold shoulder trend… especially for fall! It’s funny how such a subtle detail can have such a dramatic effect, am I right?

I love the look of the off-shoulder tops too, but I have to admit that I’m partial to the cold shoulder trend simply because it’s office appropriate.

Maroon coloured clothes has always been a fall staple for me, so naturally when I found this wine coloured cold shoulder shift dress from Tobi, I pretty much fell instantly in love.

(Dress: Tobi, Handbag: vintage Chanel, Jewelry: Stella & Dot, Boots: Globo)

When it comes to the fit of a dress, shift dresses are my number one go-to. I really think that everyone should own at least two shift dresses: one in black, and one in a colour. Not only are they super comfortable (shift dresses honestly feels PJs to me), but they are so incredibly versatile!

They are a great layering piece. Shift dresses look good by themselves, with a jacket, cardigans, tights, or even with a skinny jean, making them a great option year-round. It’s also really easy to dress them up with accessories or you can always rock a more casual look.

My favourite way to wear shift dresses in the fall is with a (faux) leather jacket and ankle booties, which I’ve done here. It’s just so simple and stylish. (At least I think so!) On the colder days, I’ll opt to wear my shift dresses with some tights and a big blanket scarf.

If you’re not feeling the wine, the Day Dream Shift Dress also comes in teal, heather grey and black. I kind of want to grab this dress in the teal colour too. The fabric is so incredibly soft.

What are some of your favourite trends for fall? I’d love to know!

I had content planned to post sooner (like this photo as I’m sure you can clearly tell by the Christmas decorations 😅), but life happened and I ended up taking a break from Instagram for the rest of my holidays which honestly was really nice.

This week was my first week back to work, so I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my pjs and Ruffi again this weekend.

This one has been a favourite of mine for a few years now. It might be time for me to get a new one to keep things fresh… or should I say ‘pine' fresh. See what I did there? Ok, I’ll see myself out. 🙈 #uglychristmassweater #christmas2020
