It’s finally summer! Every summer I make a bucket list, and every summer I make it too long and too complicated and too hard to complete and I end up checking off maybe 5 items. But not this year. This year is my year. I’ve decided to be a little more realistic in what I want to accomplish this summer, especially considering that my time is very limited between a full time job, volunteering with putting together a local event, sleeping and stuffing my face (BBQ season is my favourite season).
So here goes.
First off, I’m totally stealing my friend and fellow blogger, Jules, idea and am going to be updating this list and crossing items off as I accomplish them! I’m a little late to the race, so I thought 20 things would be a good number to start with, but then there were a couple of things I really wanted to do so it ended up being 25.
Kait’s Summer Bucket List
- Finish reading a book
- Go on a picnic
- Go antiquing
- Try a new flavour of ice cream
- Pizza and movie night
- Have an old fashioned slumber party
- Visit Sarah in Waterford (it’s a tradition!)
- Crafternoons
- Go to a lavender farm
- Go to the drive-in
- Host a summer garden party (another tradition)
- Hang my gallery wall
- Go on a daytrip
- Go to a farm/pick your own fruit place
- Try a new recipe
- Go to the aquarium!
- Make popsicles
- Go to a museum
- Board/card game night
- Go swimming/get in water at least once
- Go to a community event
- Paint something
- Have a fondue night
- Make ice cream sandwiches
- Clean out my closet
And there you have it! Some of them are pretty lame to the average person, like finish a book (I have a terrible habit of reading 3/4 of a book then never finishing it because I read the last page) and cleaning out my closet, but I think these are all things that are totally manageable in the amount of time I have. I really wanted to include ‘backyard movie night‘ on this list (because how fun would that be?!) but the bugs are pretty bad around here this year.
What are some of the things you want to accomplish this summer?
Keep your fingers crossed I can get through all of mine!
