#StyleBoss: Why I Became a Stella & Dot Stylist

January 15, 2017

3 Reasons Why I Became a Stella & Dot Stylist

I thought I would take the time today to chat about three of my favourite things: shopping, the idea that you can work for yourself and empowering women. Yeah okay, I know what you’re thinking, what do any of these things have to do with each other?! Don’t worry I’m going to explain.

A few months ago, I decided to become a Stella & Dot stylist. There were many reasons that lead me to this decision, and all three of those things that I mentioned played a huge part in this choice. To start off, I’m going to talk about the first word: shopping.

If I’m being completely honest with you here, I, like many other bloggers out there, have a wee bit of a shopping problem and for me Stella & Dot was one of my favourite places to shop. It got to the point where my own friends, family and stylist were all asking me why I wasn’t a stylist. I mean, thanks to my addiction I practically owned the entire collection.

My stylist explained to me that my own purchases counted towards my sales (there also is no monthly requirement), plus I would bet getting a discount with the potential to earn accessories for free (that fact alone was a dream come true) and have a little bit of extra cash in my pocket!

The idea that you can work for yourself: As a blogger and freelancer it should come as no surprise that I *love* the thought of this.  I’m not sure if my Stella & Dot business will grow to this level, but I know that the opportunity to grow is there. There are lots of other stylists who are able to make enough income to support themselves just through Stella & Dot which is really amazing!

Empowering women: Okay, you might be thinking that this one is a bit of a stretch but hear me out. Stella & Dot does this one in a lot of different ways, one of which I touched on above. Let’s start with the mission: “Stella & Dot’s mission is to give every woman the means to style her own life.”

That itself is pretty empowering. The premise of their business model is to provide flexible entrepreneurial opportunities for women. When you really think about it, they are empowering women in so many different ways. They allow women to be their own boss, make their own hours, work from home so they can be with their kids, they are creating communities online and offline and they are helping us grow professionally and personally.

If becoming a stylist yourself is something you’ve thought about doing, I’d be more than happy to chat with you and answer any questions you may have.

There’s also a really good sign up bonus right now, (I signed up myself during one of these and it was a huge help) where you get an extra $100 in product credit just by signing up. You can also earn a $199 cash rebate if you make your Quick Start goals. This particular sign up bonus is available until February 7th, 2017.

Fun fact, @batistecanada was the first dry shampoo Fun fact, @batistecanada was the first dry shampoo I ever tried. (Gifted)

I've been an avid dry shampoo user for years. I have really fine/straight hair and it helps with adding some volume back to my hair inbetween washes, without making it feel greasy like styling products do.

I recently got the #BatisteWonderWoman edition to try through @chickadvisor, and it smells SO good that I just had to share! #gotitfree

If you're prone to blemishes and want something soothing and brightening, you’ll like it. 13/10 would buy again. 🌿
