Style made easy – winter fashion inspo with DressYou

December 6, 2019

I recently discovered a really cool (and Canadian!) platform called DressYou that I wanted to share with you guys! I don’t know about you, but every time the new fashion season rolls around I always struggle with two things: a) navigating my wardrobe and how I styled pieces the previous year, and b) coming up with new looks based on the current trends. This is where DressYou really comes in handy.

I always have trouble remembering what the heck I wore last year and how I styled it. Every time the season changes, I open my closet and just stare at it confused. I tried taking photos and saving them just on my phone under albums for each season, but space eventually came an issue so I had to delete a bunch of the photos, sometimes I didn’t save them to the right album and couldn’t find them later. It was a mess.

I also have a hard time finding that perfect item for any trend (I’ve been searching for the perfect leopard print jacket for what feels like an eternity) and figuring out how to piece certain items together… without spending a hundred hours googling and scouring clothing websites that is!

This is where DressYou comes in handy.

What is DressYou?

DressYou is a website that allows you to shop your favourite looks by other users or create and upload your own.

It’s users aren’t just influencers (although there are lots of bloggers and Instagrammers on there), anyone can create an account and start creating looks!

In just a couple of clicks, you can find outfit inspiration, looks by real people and shop an entire outfit, from multiple retailers, in one place! I’m personally a huge fan of the discover section, where you can search for looks based on current trends. You can also search for specific items using keywords in their advanced search option.

It’s already made my life so much easier. I’m that person that when I see an item I like in an online store I start searching the brand’s tagged content to see if I can find that item on an actual person before I make the purchase. (Does anyone else do this, or am I just completely crazy?) DressYou basically completely eliminates that step for me, which is a total game changer and has started saving me so much time.

Basically, it’s freaking awesome.

And you all know me – I’m big on supporting Canadian companies and local communities. As soon as I found out that DressYou was a Canadian founded company, based out of Montreal, I was hooked.

Here’s a sneak peek of some items I just ordered, I can’t wait for them to arrive! Once they do, I’ll show you guys how I end up styling them so keep an eye out on my DressYou page (@misskait) for that.

I had content planned to post sooner (like this photo as I’m sure you can clearly tell by the Christmas decorations 😅), but life happened and I ended up taking a break from Instagram for the rest of my holidays which honestly was really nice.

This week was my first week back to work, so I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my pjs and Ruffi again this weekend.
