Review: Rocky Mountain Soap Co.

March 10, 2018

I’m sure you all know by now that I have an obsession with skincare and soap companies. So naturally, I was pretty excited when I got the opportunity to try out some products from Canadian company, Rocky Mountain Soap Co.

One of my favourite things that I learned about them, is that all of their products are toxin-free and made with 100% natural ingredients. When I found this out, I was even more excited to try their products out.

I was sent three products to try: the pomegranate day cream, the bamboo brightening face polish and the transformative cleansing oil. I really liked all three of the products, my skin was glowing after using them. If I had to pick one product that was my favourite of the three, it would be the face polish. I’m looking forward to trying out some more products from Rocky Mountain Soap Co. in the future.

Brightening Face Polish

The face polish is made with sugar, bamboo, eucalyptus (my favourite!), tea tree and french green clay. I usually have hard time with facial exfoliants due to my skin being so sensitive, but this one didn’t bother me at all and did a really great job! Not only did it help with my dry skin, but it helped with my overall complexion too. I will definitely be picking up more of this when I run out. The packaging also said that you can mix the polish with a cleansing oil, the day cream, honey or yogurt when you use it instead of water to make it even more nourishing based on what your skin needs.

Cleansing Oil

The cleansing oil smells amazing. I used it to remove my makeup on a re-useable cotton pad and it did an incredible job of getting every little bit of dirt and makeup off my skin, I was really impressed. It didn’t feel heavy on my skin at all! Plus, I found the scent to be really relaxing so that was an extra bonus to my end-of-day skincare routine. It’s made with arnica oil (which is anti-inflammatory), chamomile, rosemary, jojoba and rose oils.

Day Cream

I absolutely loved the day cream. Being made with pomegranate, the day cream also smells delicious. Pomegranates are high in anti-oxidants and is a skin superfood. As someone with acne prone skin finding a moisturizer is something that has always been difficult for me. A lot of the ones I’ve tried before will cause me to break out more. I didn’t have this problem with this one at all!

Did you know that your skin works harder at night? Did you know that your skin works harder at night? 😴✨

When you’re in a deep sleep, your skin shifts into repair mode. I'm a huge fan of overnight masks because they help boost your skin's renewal process.

This sleep mask was actually one of the first ones I ever tried. I think it might have been discontinued because I haven’t been able to find it recently.

Do you have a go-to overnight mask? Lately I’ve been using Innisfree’s Pore Caring sleep mask and Glow Recipe’s overnight eye mask.

I had content planned to post sooner (like this photo as I’m sure you can clearly tell by the Christmas decorations 😅), but life happened and I ended up taking a break from Instagram for the rest of my holidays which honestly was really nice.

This week was my first week back to work, so I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my pjs and Ruffi again this weekend.
