A few months ago, Influenster and Shiseido was kind enough to send me a box of some new products to try, the complete Ginza Tokyo line. I waited on doing this post because I wanted to make sure I gave it a fair shot and used it for a few months to really put it to the test.
The box included four different products to try: the Ibuki Smart Filtering Smoother, the Ultimune Concentrate, the Ibuki Quick Fix Spray and the Ibuki Beauty Sleeping Mask.
They also gave me a postcard that included some samples as well to mail to a friend, which I thought was really thoughtful. Instead of mailing it to a friend I decided to do a giveaway on Instagram stories for my followers. Anyways, without further ado, let’s get to the review!
1. Ibuki Smart Filtering Smoother:
This item is described as a game-changing formula that works to diminish the appearance of pores, absorbing excess oil, leaving your skin with a fresh, smooth, matte look, just like your favourite Instagram filter.
I’ll be honest, I had my doubts about this one. I expected it to help with the above a bit, but I didn’t really think it was going to have such a dramatic effect as it did. It didn’t really fill in my pores, but it did give an overall skin blurring effect, exactly like a filter would. It really made my face look incredible!
As far as breakouts go, I do think this one caused me to break out a little bit more than usual, but it wasn’t a disaster. I’ve been limiting myself to using it for special occasions/events as opposed to everyday use because of this.
2. Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate:
This product was easily my favourite out of everything I received. It’s described as a one of a kind boosting pre-treatment that will help reduce signs of aging, skin damage while boosting the overall health of your skin.
I found that this really helped the appearance of my overall skin to look more refreshed. It didn’t help reduce my regular breakouts, but it also didn’t make them worse. It really made my skin feel soft, it absorbs nicely and doesn’t leave a residue and I love the smell of this product. I bought the full-sized version of this one and have been using it almost every day.
3. Ibuki Quick Fix Spray:
I was most excited to try out this product. I have trouble with my makeup looking not-to-great around lunch time, even if I use a setting spray (which also causes huge breakouts for me) and I was hoping this would help with that.
It is has a really lovely cooling effect, but I didn’t notice it helping too much with anything that I was hoping it would. I will say though that the sample size was really hard to spray, so maybe that had something to do with it.
4. Ibuki Beauty Sleeping Mask:
I love sleeping masks! I was also really excited to try this one out. Its an overnight gel mask, that is packed with vitamin capsules to help you wake up looking more well-rested with a glowing complexion.
What I really liked about this one was how great it felt on my skin. The formula was really lightweight. I do think my skin looked a lot better after using it, and my skin tone was really even. Because my skin is so sensitive, I don’t use sleeping masks too often as much as love them because they can cause me to break out a bit more if I use them too much. As much as I loved the formula and scent, I’ll be sticking to my usual overnight mask, as I break out a little bit less with that one I think.
