Earlier this month, Style Korea sent me some products by a Korean skincare line, TOUN28, to try out. Although I’m an avid k-beauty lover, up until now I hadn’t tried anything by TOUN28 before. I ended up loving them so much that I thought I would throw together a quick review post and share my experience with you!
As soon as I unboxed the package I was immediately impressed with the brand. TOUN28 is a sustainable, eco- friendly K-Beauty brand that uses biodegradable packaging, minimal plastic and is certified vegan.
TOUN28 is also working with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to help fight climate change. Not only is all of their product packaging is sustainable, but the products are also cruelty-free, allergen-free and made with natural-origin ingredients.
The meaning behind the name
- TOUN refers to each area of the skin – the T zone, O zone, U zone and N zone.
- The 28 references the cycle of skin cell renewal.
Overall, I’m freaking obsessed with this product line. In the month that I’ve been using these products my skin looked the best it has in a while. It pretty much completely cleared up my breakouts and left my skin looking and feeling refreshed, brighter, and moisturized with a natural glow.
Hibiscus pH balancing toner
- pH balancing toner
- Made with organic hibiscus water and amino acids
- Very lightweight, watery toner
- I found you use less product when applying this toner just with your hands (vs with a toner pad)
I found this toner to be incredibly gentle and lightweight on my skin. It has a beautiful natural scent thanks to the hibiscus water, but it isn’t fragrances which I liked. Overall, I really have been enjoying this toner, but out of all the products that I tried if I’d have to rank them it would be my least favourite of the bunch. That’s not to say it’s not a great toner – because it is – I just felt the other two products were superstars in comparison.
AHA, BHA and pHA serum
- Made with AHA, BHA and pHA to gently exfoliate, soften and brighten your skin
- Also contains niacinamide to help acne and brighten your skin
- Is skin healing
I love this serum. It has definitely become one of my holy grails of serums. Even though it’s packed with AHAs, BHAs and pHAs, it is extremely gentle and nourishing. If I had to pick one product from all three as the top item, this would be it.
Trouble care gel cream
- Made for dehydrated, oily or combo skin that is acne prone
- It’s moisturizing, skin calming and soothing
- Made with centella asiatica (CICA), Konjac root, sodium hyaluronate, salicylic acid
- Oil-free (yay!)
This gel cream is also incredibly lightweight and has an amazing texture. It goes on evenly and doesn’t feel sticky like a lot of other gel creams that I’ve tried. It does exactly what it says it will – it’s moisturizing, soothing and helps calm redness, inflamed skin and blemishes. It works by balancing the skin by removing excess oil from oily spots and moisturizing dry spots ( basically it’s witchcraft).
There really wasn’t a single product that I didn’t like. I have loved using all three of these products and will definitely be picking them up again for myself! If you’re interested in trying some of TOUN28‘s products out, you can grab them on Style Korea here.
