“Getting Crafty” with Cricut + a coupon code!

September 18, 2016

I am so, so, SO excited about my new toy! I finally have my very own Cricut, after coveting for one for almost a year. If you are a DIY lover like me and haven’t heard of their products before you seriously need to look them up.

Basically, Cricut machines can cut anything. Their machines make it super easy to create any DIY project you can dream of, and they can work with or without a computer. You can cut so many different materials with them: vinyl, paper, fabric, card stock, leather, WOOD and so much more. You can also use pens to create perfect shapes. The possibilities are really endless with this one!

I snagged a Cricut Explore Air, so it has a dual accessory spots which makes it able to cut and draw at the same time. Pretty amazing huh? This particular machine can cut over 60 materials, comes with integrated storage compartments for all my tools, is embedded with bluetooth technology for wireless cutting and comes with free software so that I can create my own designs!

Basically, my Sunday Crafternoons (which you all know I treat as a religious holiday!) got a whole lot more serious.

I’ve already started thinking up of so many great DIY projects and also have started a Pinterest board for inspiration + projects that I want to try! I’m so excited to have so many great crafts and DIYs to share with you guys in the near future!

I’m really torn as to what I want to make first, but I’m thinking it will definitely be something vinyl related. I think the vinyl cutting is my favourite part about the Cricut. When I was browsing the web for ideas I saw laptop decals, phone stickers, mugs, tote bags, t-shirts, balloons galore that were made all using Cricut’s vinyl cutter. We all know I have a mug problem, so it’s likely that my first project will end up being that.

Once I get better at it I really want to move my way up to wood cutting. I have a wood burner, (which I’m admittedly not that great at) and have some stain from Minwax that I’m eager to put to good use for a fun, creative project so I think combining the two would make for a really great and fun DIY project.

Do you guys have a Cricut? If so, what are some of your favourite projects? I’d love to see what you’ve done so please share them with me in the comment section –  I want to try it!!

If you guys have a Cricut, or don’t and would like one, you can get 10% off ANYTHING with the coupon code “CRAFTALOT” and using this link to shop up until September 30th.

I can’t wait to share all of my projects with you guys. Happy crafting!

I had content planned to post sooner (like this photo as I’m sure you can clearly tell by the Christmas decorations 😅), but life happened and I ended up taking a break from Instagram for the rest of my holidays which honestly was really nice.

This week was my first week back to work, so I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my pjs and Ruffi again this weekend.

’Tis the season for ugly Christmas sweaters! 🎄🎄🎄

This one has been a favourite of mine for a few years now. It might be time for me to get a new one to keep things fresh… or should I say ‘pine' fresh. See what I did there? Ok, I’ll see myself out. 🙈 #uglychristmassweater #christmas2020
