Can you believe that Christmas is just a few days away?! It honestly just feels like I was getting ready for fall just a few days ago! I think I have just been so busy this season that I have had hardly any time to just enjoy the Holiday season.
So this weekend, I forced myself to take some much needed time-out, shut off my email and relax and get in the Holiday Spirit, and Orville Redenbacher’s helped me out with that.
There’s just something about popcorn, PJs, a movie marathon and blankets on a cold winter’s night that is just so comforting. I really love those terrible made-for-TV Christmas movies. I mean, they are just so bad that they’re good! It’s kind of a family tradition in my house to watch as many of them as we can with popcorn in hand during December.
I’ve always been pretty picky when it comes to popcorn, especially when it comes in a bag. We have a stove-top popcorn popper so I’ve been pretty spoiled with homemade gourmet popcorn, but sometimes you’re just not in the mood to make food and you just want to sit, eat and chill.
Orville Redenbacher’s just came out with a new twist on Chicago style popcorn (one of my favs): Caramel and white cheddar… and I’m in love! I received a bag for free to test, and it’s seriously the perfect mix of sweet and savoury. It didn’t take me long to plow my way through the bag and I’ll definitely be running out to get some more bags soon!
Anyways, aside from made-for-TV Christmas movies, we also have a few Holiday favourites that are staples in this house and we watch multiple times throughout the season, my personal favourites are:
- Elf
- Love, Actually
- Christmas with the Kranks
- Jingle All The Way (another terrible but great movie!)
- The Polar Express
The Polar Express is one of those movies that creeps a lot of people out because of the way it was animated. I won’t lie, it’s a little creepy but its one of my favourite Christmas stories. As kids, our dad would read us the book every Christmas Eve which eventually turned into us watching it as a family every Christmas Eve.
Does your family have any Holiday movie favourites and snack traditions?
