If you’ve been around here for a while, I’m sure you’re well aware by now that my favourite type of Cricut projects are ones with heat transfer materials. Naturally, because of this I was so excited when I heard that Cricut was launching a brand new series of Easy Press products – the EasyPress 3. I finally have one to call my own, and can’t wait to get crafting with it!
I’m sure you might be wondering what makes the EasyPress 3 different from it’s predecessors. The biggest difference is that the new EasyPress uses the same smart technology as the Hat Press. This means that you can control your EasyPress’ heat settings with just a tap via your smart device.
Cricut Heat App
The EasyPress 3 connects to your smart device via bluetooth. From there, you can use the Cricut Heat App to select your project materials and it will then send the heat and time settings to your heat press. How cool is that?! If you’re like anything like me and could never remember the recommended settings for your projects this is a huge time saver as it takes out guess-work and time it takes to look up the right settings on the online heat guide. Of course, you can still manually set your EasyPress 3 if you prefer to do so. Another benefit to using the Heat App is that it reminds you of important steps that are sometimes missed, like pre-heating your materials and providing on-screen prompts.
Design Features
Cricut has also made improvements to the heat plate with the new edition. The EasyPress 3 features a ceramic-coated plate to deliver dry, even heat right to the edge so you consistently get professional quality results.
It also comes with an insulated safety base to help protect your work surface, and after 10 minutes of inactivity the EasyPress 3 will auto shut-off.
The EasyPress 3 is available in two difference sizes, 9×9 and 12×10. I previously owned the 9×9 EasyPress, so I opted to go for the 12×10 this time, which will make it easier for me to make larger designs, like pillows, which is one of my favourite projects.
So, do you need the new EasyPress 3?
If you do a lot of heat transfer projects you definitely will want to consider picking this one up. The Heat Press app and smart technology is so convenient and truly delivers professional quality results. I’m really impressed with the quality of this product, Cricut has done it again!
