Detox Green Smoothie

January 19, 2016

I just thought I would do a really quick blog post today, (so sorry about the photo quality – I just snapped it on my phone because I was in a hurry!) and share with you a smoothie that I’ve been kind of obbessed with lately.

If you’ve been following along lately, you know that in November I injured my leg and couldn’t move around for quite some time. (Almost two months!) I’ve been doing physiotherapy almost a month now and while I’ve come a really long way I still have a ways to go. I can walk around now, but stairs are still hard and I get winded easily. I’m still trying to gain my muscle back in my leg and foot (I lost it all from the injury) but I’ve made some serious progress! My leg is usually exhausted and achey by the end of the day. I’m still dealing with some inflammation too, so between these two things my mom made some recommendations of some things I could add to my smoothie to help my muscles and to reduce inflammation.

Guys, your mom knows best.  At least most of the time (sorry mom).

Easy peasy, right? Turmeric has been labeled as one of the ‘superfoods’ of 2016 – it has a crazy long list of benefits and along with matcha green tea, ginger and lemon, is a great anti-inflammatory. It sounds weird, but honestly this stuff works. Not only does my leg feel better after drinking it, but my entire body does! I’m actually excited to wake up in the morning simply because I want to have my daily smoothie hah!

Do you have any favourite go-to green smoothie recipes? I’d love to try something different so let me know if you do!

Fun fact, @batistecanada was the first dry shampoo Fun fact, @batistecanada was the first dry shampoo I ever tried. (Gifted)

I've been an avid dry shampoo user for years. I have really fine/straight hair and it helps with adding some volume back to my hair inbetween washes, without making it feel greasy like styling products do.

I recently got the #BatisteWonderWoman edition to try through @chickadvisor, and it smells SO good that I just had to share! #gotitfree
Picked up this tea tree relief serum by @iUNIK_off Picked up this tea tree relief serum by @iUNIK_official from @sukoshimart last month and I've been loving it!

If you're prone to blemishes and want something soothing and brightening, you’ll like it. 13/10 would buy again. 🌿
