I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – fall is my favourite time of year! I can’t believe that it is almost already over. I’m hoping to make the best of what is left of the season, so I thought I would quickly share some of my favourite fall activities with you in case you’re in the same boat as me.
Easy DIY Geometric Coasters with the Cricut Explore Air
Since March is National Craft Month, I’m back with another DIY using my Circuit Explore Air. One of my favourite things about my Cricut machine is how versatile it is! Seriously, you can make so many amazingly different things with it. For today’s craft, I’ll be using a material that I haven’t featured on the blog before: adhesive foil.
If you’re not sure what a Cricut machine is here is a little refresher:
Cricut machines are personal cutting machines, aka superheroes, that can cut a variety of different materials such as paper, vinyl, craft foam, iron-on transfer, faux leather, window cling and so much more. They can also write and score materials and come with access to a web-based program called Design Space that houses over 50,000 images and 800+ projects. You can also upload your own designs if you are computer-savvy.

Getting Cozy for the Holidays with Orville Redenbacher’s
Can you believe that Christmas is just a few days away?! It honestly just feels like I was getting ready for fall just a few days ago! I think I have just been so busy this season that I have had hardly any time to just enjoy the Holiday season.
So this weekend, I forced myself to take some much needed time-out, shut off my email and relax and get in the Holiday Spirit, and Orville Redenbacher’s helped me out with that.
There’s just something about popcorn, PJs, a movie marathon and blankets on a cold winter’s night that is just so comforting. I really love those terrible made-for-TV Christmas movies. I mean, they are just so bad that they’re good! It’s kind of a family tradition in my house to watch as many of them as we can with popcorn in hand during December.

You Care Too Much: the important act of self-care
What does self-care mean to you? For me, in addition to my daily routine of putting my face on, it’s getting that much needed “me time” and letting my body relax and recover from life. I make a conscious effort to not schedule anything on Sundays. Sundays are my “me day” – I catch up on freelance work, my TV shows, stay in my PJs and end the day with a lush cosmetics bath. It’s my Sunday ritual.
Self-care is such an important act, one that I think we often push to the sidelines for various reasons: we’re too busy caring for others, we don’t have time because of our jobs, school work or adulting, blah blah blah. I won’t lie, I catch myself making excuses too sometimes. When I chose to dedicate one day a week to self-care, the excuses started happening a whole lot less. And honestly, it taught me just how important and valuable the simple act of self-care is.
